The secret formula to double your fundraising in one event with NO MONEY out of your pocket
If you are reading this “cheat sheet” is because you are one of this three:
- You want to produce a fundraiser event but don’t know how.
- You produced one but it tanked.
- You produced many and you are trying to find some new Ideas for your next event.
If you couldn’t answer yes to at least one of the three, then you should stop reading this and enjoy what you were doing before you came across this “Article”.
Regardless of where you’re at on the fundraising organization, this article will open your mind to a new and innovative way to fundraise.
Before we go into the “Great Idea” on how you can put on a FREE FUNDRAISER SHOW, let me tell you who I am and why you should take 5 minutes of your time and continue reading.
My name is Alan Chamo, I’m an entertainer, a Mentalist to be exact. Yes, a Mentalist and yes it’s my full-time job for over 25 years.
When I’m not traveling the world I do lot’s of big fundraisers annual events.
They love my show and I get to entertain in fancy galas where people pay thousands of dollars for a table and in many cases for a plate. My M1ND H4CK3R show have been used to raise millions of dollars in these type of events.
Every big Fundraising Gala needs a good show after dinner or between speakers.
Let me tell you, a big part of the money raised in those events goes to pay the event itself (Flowers arrangements, Gourmet food and fancy “shmenzy stuff” (I’m not sure it’s a word but it explains it perfectly in my mind).
I’m not criticizing it, in most cases, they are very creative.
There is a need in those events for very large organizations, you can’t serve a hot dog to someone donating over a million dollars.
After doing so many of these events I realized that smaller organizations can’t afford a production of this scale, they don’t have the pockets to come up with deposits for venues, expensive catering, flowers, printed invitations, famous MC, rentals, pay my fee and everything in between.
Just the time and effort it takes to produce an event like this is out of the question for most non-profits.
If you run a non-profit you know that funds have been slashed in education and after-school programs among others.
Seeing those organizations and so many people volunteering and being involved in the community, always made me proud to be an American (I’m also Argentinean and Israeli, but that’s a story for another day).
And the fact you are reading this shows me, you feel the same about helping others. We both have a warm heart and want to help promote a good cause in order to help our communities thrive and help the needed.
We might not have deep pockets but we give from our time and skills. For me, that’s priceless.
Many veteran chapters, volunteers first responder stations, boys and girls clubs, children hospitals, educators, schools and other organizations need to fundraise to keep the “lights on”.
This got me thinking; how can I help the smaller organization to produce successful fundraisers that meet this three criteria:
- NO financial risk.
- FREE for the organizations
- Educational and Family Friendly.
Let’s break it down
- NO financial risk:
Producing a fundraiser is risky & expensive. It requires Planning and real organization activating your volunteers. The organization needs to give deposits for contractors like Catering and Decorations, Event planner, Venue rental, Lighting rentals and A/V Rentals with their personal. And finally Entertainment (that’s my part).
Doing a successful fundraiser of this scale requires real pros in Event planning, and even they can not avoid some of the risks like an unpredicted tropical storm in South Florida or a snowstorm in the northeast.
Those are just simple risks of any event but more so if the whole purpose of the event was to get donors thru the door.
- FREE for the organizations.
I think this one is self-explanatory.
- Educational and Family Friendly.
That’s the only kind of entertainment I do.
“The answer was staring me in the face” (when I looked in the mirror).
I do theater shows, right? , people pay to come to see my show. What if I dedicate a show to a good cause and all the proceeds for ticket sale go to the organization.
What a great un-original 3000-year-old Idea.
The problem was that it was not scalable.
My second thought was to give a big discount to the smaller organizations and do a few freebies.
But let’s face it, I can give some discount but only at certain times of the year and, I could do no more than 10 of this shows per year!
I travel all the time so it is only understandable that I want to enjoy time with my wife Vanesa and our 3 years old Micaela that I miss so much when I’m away for so long.
And let’s face it, like you, I also have bills to pay and put something aside for my family.
I have to consider not only what I loose from the discounted rate but also the “loss of opportunity”.
You see, once I’m committed to doing a show, I can’t cancel on them for a higher paying corporate gig that comes along. That’s the reason most entertainer only do a few Free or discounted fundraisers per year.
A few months after The great Revelation, I came across a fellow entertainer, Garry Carson, he and his wife Janine started a non-profit organization that does exactly what I was trying to do; they help smaller non-profits to put on a free show for their fundraiser. And of course, once again. I didn’t invent the wheel.
The organization is called SML (Sponsor Magic Link) Basically, their mission is To provide Magic Shows as the main event for non-profits to use as a vehicle for their fundraiser, where 100% of ALL ticket sales goes for the event organizer.
Bingo! I loved the mission, it helps organizations and helps me do more shows for them.
Garry has been doing this very successfully for over 13 years and got so much experience. It was his mission and passion.
But we quickly realized that we need to micromanage the organization by giving support in the marketing and organization of an event. Let’s face it, most never produced a theater show before.
We had to find a way to scale it so we can provide more shows and coach the organizations on how to put together a successful fundraising event in a clear easy to follow the way that would produce consistent results.
We needed a manual!
And that’s exactly what we did. We took 13 years of experience and summarized it a helpful 42 pages “how-to do a FREE FUNDRAISER SHOW”. This manual covers everything the organization will need to put together a successful event and to raise some serious cash without risking any of their own money.
Our program got traction and more organizations of all sizes jumped on the opportunity and produced our show as a fundraiser with the help of the manual.
Even larger organizations that had experience doing big annual galas saw our program as an opportunity to do a second fundraiser every year in order to get those that couldn’t pay hundreds for a plate.
“These organizations quickly realized something that I didn’t have in mind. Our shows attracted lots of people that never even heard of the organization, families from the local communities that came in the door because they wanted to see our show!”
What’s the meaning of that?
- More exposure for your organization and its mission
- Expand your mailing list within your community. (Mailing list is $$ in today world)
- Recruit new fresh young volunteers that are excited about your mission!
Forget about the money! Only this three points are worth putting a show for.
But if that’s not enough, with the help of local sponsors we managed to make it:
COMPLETELY FREE “NO RISK” OPPORTUNITY!
Your organization doesn’t pay a dime out of pocket for the show. You have ZERO risk. In most cases, you will also get a venue at a very special rate or even FREE.
100% OF ALL TICKETS SOLD GOES TO YOUR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION AND SUPPORT A GOOD CAUSE.
You control ticket sales and no one is taking any cut.
For example, if your event sells $30,000 in ticket sales, 100% ($30,000) goes to the organization. (unless you use a third party ticketing service)
INCLUDED ALL NECESSARY digital and printed MARKETING FOR FREE!
We provide all the necessary marketing materials to make your fundraising event most successful, including printed tickets, flyers and color posters. All printed specially for your event at no charge to your organization.
Our program covers all expenses for the show including travel expenses.
As part of the “Sponsor Magic Link” program, we provide everything needed in making fundraising events very successful, fun and beneficial for organizations. While teaching the skills needed to successfully produce such an event.
You get our Proven blueprint; “How to produce a fundraiser show”, a 42 pages MANUAL, TO GUIDE YOU EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.
I perform the day of the event but there is much to be done leading up to it, and for some small organizations, it might be a scary task.
But since we put together a proven formula that guides and teaches how to manage and control every aspect of the production. From choosing the venue to the thank you letter after the events.
Many organizations use our manuals for other events and for continue marketing, keeping the flame going engaging your followers and volunteers.
We took 13 years of experience and put it into a clear easy to understand “How-to” manual that includes all the resources you need to organize and run a successful event.
All you have to do is follow our manual that will detail everything you and your volunteers will have to do to market and have a sold-out event.
We provide the know-how, you do the legwork.
So how can you go out tomorrow and produce an amazing fundraising event with no or little money out of pocket?
Our “FREE FUNDRAISING SHOW” program allows organizations to use the family-friendly M1ND H4CK3R show as a fundraiser.
Whats the M1ND H4CK3R show?
Mind Hacker is a fast-paced, intimate, interactive experience where you’ll spend as much time
laughing as you do scratching your head, wondering “How the heck did that just happen?”
Alan created this show in 2017. It was debuted with rave review at the Colony Theatre Miami Beach.
This show is design to appeal to a general audience and is family friendly.
There is two version to this show; 45 min for cruise lines and corporate and 90 min for theaters.
I don’t want to expand too much about the specifics of the show at this time, I would rather focus on the concept as this program can be implemented to any other good quality show.
Not to worry, you will see some videos of it before you fill up the application form.
So, if this program can be applied to any show, why do I need you when my son plays the guitar so well.
I never said you need me, or my show. It is yours only if you like it and if we both believe it would be the right fit for your organization and the demographics in your area.
we actually want you to use our program in your future events, after all, the Idea here is to raise funds for good causes.
Regardless. If you are interested in doing a fundraising show event with my show or not, please never make it a “school talent show” if your goal is to raise money.
The only audience you will get in the door (that paid maximum $10) are their parents and grandparents. Even their brothers and sister will prefer not to be there if they could avoid it, and forget about the cousins and uncles, they will find a good excuse why they couldn’t make it.
Let the professionals do what they do best. This is why there are entertainers and event planners that specialize in a fundraiser, It’s a different animal.
How much can you expect to make from an average event?
Each event is different and each charges a different fee based on the area demographics.
For most shows, organizations charge an entrance fee anywhere between $20-$60 and manage to bring anywhere between 250-1000 people in the door. These last numbers depend on the size of the room and the marketing efforts leading to the event.
So from ticket sells ONLY you can do anywhere between $5000.00 to $60000.00
but it doesn’t and here.
On top of that, you will learn how to raise even more money from local sponsors. Sometimes organizations get to keep more money they raised from sponsors than from ticket sells.
In the manual we will also show you how you can raise even more, selling concessions, raffles, and other Ideas to bring in more $$ for your organization.
How do we get paid?
We already clarified that you don’t pay us a dime out of pocket, it comes from sponsors you get with our help.
There is no deposit fee or any other type of transaction.
But let’s face it, businesses and professional performers have EXPENSES.
My Company is a business with expenses that include insurance (that also cover you and the venues from any liability), props, equipment, salaries, clerical, fuel, and other operating costs.
We do a total of 50 Free fundraiser shows a year. That takes more than 90 days between travel time, set up, tear down and of to the next gig.
on the personal level, Just like you, I have bills to pay and a family to raise. For those events, I get paid a fraction of what I get from Corporate events but I get much more satisfaction knowing that my show and system helped raise needed funds for a good cause.
But as mentioned before I’m being paid from sponsors, not from your pocket. you have no risk.
We have a maximum fee that covers all our expenses. There is NO MINIMUM amount required to be raised of local sponsors for us to hold the event.
Even if you only raise $200.00, or $3,000, we only ask that your organization/school makes their strongest effort to go out and raise local sponsorship funds through-out the campaign.
So why Maximum fee?
There lies another great opportunity to raise more needed funds for your cause. because the maximum amount of sponsorship funds that goes to the entertainer (us) for their compensation is $5,000. Anything over this amount goes to your organization along with 100% of the ticket sales!.
This system incentivizes your volunteers to go out and get more sponsors.
For example: If your organization sold 800 tickets at $20 each, giving you a total of $16,000 in funds raised in ticket sales, and then collected $10,000 in local business sponsors.
after paying the max amount to us of $5000.00, you would end up raising a total of $21,000 for your event.
We will also show you even more ways to raise more funds for your event with other “piggyback” fundraisers.
Remember! we take all the risk, we even pay for the printing material and ship it out to you, we buy our own airfare and hotel (if your organization can’t get a local hotel to sponsor a room).
Want to get started?
